Summer
College Data Conference 17th June 2010
College Data Conferences are about data quality,
and the use of data such as success rates, to raise education standards.
Data quality is becoming increasingly important for colleges, commissioning
agencies, auditors and OfSTED. This means data needs to be accurate, complete,
timely, valid, credible, reliable, consistent and relevant. These high
profile quarterly conferences provide the opportunity to hear good practice
and updates from the experts, as well as share experiences and meet other
colleagues working with data in Colleges. |

The day after the conference all delegates
will be emailed a PDF version of the slides used at the Summer College
Data Conference.
What if I did not attend the conference, and just want a copy
of the slides?
If you did not attend the conference but would like to be emailed
a copy of the slides, they can be purchased for £50 + VAT.
Simply email tashanna.egbochue@pearson.com
requesting the slides, and making it clear that you know they cost £50
+ VAT.
The slides will then be emailed to you and an invoice will be sent to
you for the £50 + VAT.
What happens to the £50?
The Pearson Research Institute will donate all the proceeds from conference
slides to a chosen educational charity and/or good cause.
For this conference, the proceeds will go to the Lewisham College Hardship
fund.
Lewisham College’s Hardship Fund provides financial support (via
small grants) to learners who have demonstrated a commitment to learning,
are suffering financial hardship and are ineligible
to access government funded financial support for learners. Small grants
are made to learners to cover the cost of essential learning materials
– books, equipment, uniforms – and travel costs.
Without this support, some learners would not be able to complete their
course and progress to their chosen next step.
