Summer
College Data Conference 17th June 2010
College Data Conferences are about data quality,
and the use of data such as success rates, to raise education standards.
Data quality is becoming increasingly important for colleges,
commissioning agencies, auditors and OfSTED. This means data needs to
be accurate, complete, timely, valid, credible, reliable, consistent and
relevant. These high profile quarterly conferences provide the opportunity
to hear good practice and updates from the experts, as well as share experiences
and meet other colleagues working with data in Colleges. |

The information authority
was established as an independent body in October 2006 to set and regulate
data
and collection standards for further education and training provision in
England. We have a decision-making board
headed by an independent chair and made up of senior representatives from
across the education and training
system. This is supported by a small operational secretariat who work in
tandem with the Data Service to improve
the quality and use of data, reduce bureaucracy and increase accountability
to users and sponsors.
